Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Senior Estimator in Ontario to lead a high-performing estimating team through bid processes, assemble accurate budgets, and coordinate with scheduling and procurement to optimize bid outcomes. You will review drawings and tender documents, manage sub-trade quotes, and hand over binders to the execution team for successful project kick-offs.

Ideal candidates will have 8–10 years in ICI estimating, deep knowledge of contracts and unit costs, and proficiency with CostX or

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in ICI estimating or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating objectives, strategies and contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs.
• Ability to work in time-sensitive situations and delegate to a team.
• Experience distributing sub-trade quotes and coordinating with management to manage risk within bid price.
• Experience using takeoff software CostX or BlueBeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead a bid team through complex estimate processes under tight deadlines.
• Assemble accurate, timely estimates for hard-bid, CM and design-build projects.
• Prepare budgets from limited information and align with schedules.
• Review drawings and tender documents to confirm scope and submission requirements.
• Organize sub-contractor quotes and re-write binders for handover to execution team.
• Monitor project risks and maintain relationships with clients and trades for future opportunities.
• Create reports and lead management review meetings on estimates.
• Procure and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
