Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Estimator, Civil Infrastructure role at Michels Canada.

This position is a full-time, permanent role based in Edmonton, AB, Vancouver, BC, or Toronto, ON. The salary range is CA$115,000.00 to CA$125,000.00 per year, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies and regulations.
2. Support the Senior Project Manager during tendering phases.
3. Prepare accurate and timely estimates, including bids, budgets, and project setup documents.
4. Analyze drawings and specifications using technical abilities.
5. Coordinate the tender process and maintain good relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
6. Create and issue quotes and proposal documents.
7. Review bid requirements, participate in site walkthroughs, and draft risk matrices.
8. Assist in creating preliminary budgets and manage major infrastructure projects from pre-construction to completion.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent trade experience.
• At least 10 years of construction cost estimating and field experience.
• Experience with large general contractors and pursuits valued from $10 to $250 million.
• Knowledge of self-perform estimates, construction methods, planning, and scheduling.
• Familiarity with bid preparation, quantity take-offs, and contract terms.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience estimating Water/Wastewater, Open Cut, and Tunnel projects; proficiency with Heavy Bid estimating software.
