Qualifications

IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Surveyor in our Ontario, CA office. As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing management, leadership, guidance, and performance tracking of multiple survey crews and survey technicians for successful project completion. Acts as a direct interface between the client and IMEG, utilizing appropriate staff members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget while adhering to IMEG's Core Values.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods;
  • Research property information to prepare detailed scopes, budgets, and schedules for surveying projects;
  • Ensure IMEG billing/invoicing standards are met;
  • Assign research and other survey tasks to surveyors or assistants;
  • Review research findings;
  • Mentor Survey Technicians and other Surveyors;
  • Provide surveying services and consultation to clients ethically and legally, minimizing IMEG's liability;
  • Implement effective practices, methods, techniques, and equipment for land surveying;
  • Verify and utilize current applicable regulations in overseeing project work.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills;
  • Understanding Caltrans format calculations, alignments, and instructions for field work;
  • Knowledge of CAD software for preparing survey plats and exhibits;
  • Thorough understanding of IMEG survey equipment, practices, and software including GPS surveying;
  • Effective communication with clients, officials, contractors, and others;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG.

Education and experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or related field preferred;
  • Professional Land Surveyor license;
  • Minimum 14 years of experience with a degree or 20 years of equivalent experience;
  • Valid driver's license insured by IMEG.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $160,000.00. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Compensation will depend on experience, skills, and abilities. Other rewards include annual bonuses and stock options.
