Job summary

AstraZeneca in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a National Senior Manager, Enterprise Employee Relations to serve as the ER specialist across our Canadian enterprise. You will work with HR Business Partners, Legal, and the broader HR team to advise leaders and ensure practices meet Canadian laws and global standards.

In this hybrid role, you will lead investigations, implement performance management playbooks, manage severance and terminations, and partner with counsel to navigate risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of Employee Relations experience.
• Experience leading the Performance Management Framework end-to-end.
• Experience writing and managing employee-related workplace policies.
• Ability to conduct investigations independently and with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Set, interpret and uphold HR policies aligned to Canadian law and global standards.
• Lead ER matters to timely conclusions including investigations and terminations; engage counsel as needed.
• Maintain performance management playbooks, templates and training.
• Oversee severance, terminations and reorganizations with risk oversight.
• Advise leaders on change initiatives to ensure policy compliance and smooth transitions.
• Own intake, triage and resolution of ER cases via AZEthics and other sources.
• Lead response strategy for demand letters with legal counsel support.
• Conduct policy reviews and align with global frameworks and local legislation.
• Report ER metrics and maintain case history repository to identify trends.
• Partner with internal and external counsel for defensible decisions and risk mitigation.
• Serve as escalation point for sensitive exits to diagnose root causes.
