Job summary

Wesko Locks, part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, seeks an experienced Firmware Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for our electronic locking products in Mississauga, Ontario.

Based on-site, you will work with hardware and engineering teams to ensure reliable firmware, implement I2C/SPI/UART, BLE and Wi‑Fi, and support product validation, documentation, and production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of embedded firmware or software development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with RTOS and microcontroller-based products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for electronic locking products.
• Develop firmware for microcontroller-based systems using C and RTOS environments.
• Implement and support communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues through root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with hardware and engineering teams throughout product development.
• Integrate firmware with sensors, peripherals, and communication modules.
• Support product validation, testing, and verification activities.
• Assist with firmware releases, updates, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support to production and other internal teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and new product development.
• Perform additional duties as required.
