About your next Challenge as a Senior Electrical Engineer:

The candidate will oversee the electrical design and integration of shipboard naval communications systems for commercial and naval ships.

What will you do:

1. Design and drafting electrical assemblies using Zuken E3 Electrical;
2. Prepare and review Shipboard cabling and cabinet design;
3. Design and test for Electromagnetic Compatibility;
4. Support to topside electrical design for antenna placement and performance and RADHAZ mitigation;
5. Ensure drawings are produced in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards;
6. Prepare and review drawings and documentation including electrical block diagrams, schematics and cable assemblies;
7. Oversee selection of cable/connectors and components for cost and performance;
8. Prepare and review intra- and inter- system interface documentation;
9. Create Technical Product Specifications (TPS) to describe selected systems;
10. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical/electronic systems;
11. Work with manufacturing partners to introduce designs into production and solve related manufacturing issues;
12. Diagnose problems with existing designs; propose and test design modifications;
13. Conduct internal and external design reviews;
14. Maintain currency of Electrical/Electronic design best practices, methodologies, initiatives.

Required Skills and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience or Graduate Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• Familiarity with military and IEC standards for system design and testing.
• Knowledge of naval and commercial certification standards and processes.
• Proficient in MS Office tools.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

• Eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2 / NATO Secret security clearance.
• Eligible to meet U.S. ITAR requirements.
