Job description

Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace, defence, and space industries.

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team.

Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities
  • Engineer, Design, Develop and Test new embedded hardware at the forefront of technology.
  • Support and enhance existing embedded hardware.
  • Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.
  • Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions and develop the design.
  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
  • Provide input to architecture and design reviews.
  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.
  • Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge.
  • Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products.
  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong Board level development and hands on lab experience.
  • Design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics).
  • Familiar with a product development process.
  • Familiar with hardware test equipment – logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.
  • Requirements capture, analysis and tracking.
  • Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino.
  • Familiarity with FPGAs.
