Electrical Engineer

Salary: $85k+ depending on experience

Our Client

Our client, a leading architectural and engineering consulting firm in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team. They work on various project types including commercial, residential, and municipal projects, and have a strong reputation for delivering excellence in electrical engineering services.

The Role

The Electrical Engineer will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

1. Perform analysis, design, and modeling of complex electrical building systems for various construction projects.
2. Ensure design elements, modeling, and detailing adhere to relevant codes and coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and structural designs.
3. Conduct basic engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and system research, and layout of components.
4. Assist architects with project change documentation during contract administration.
5. Collaborate with other professional disciplines effectively.
6. Assist in writing design reports, system comparisons, and feasibility determinations.
7. Perform fundamental engineering calculations for system configuration and capacity.
8. Conduct site surveys and field reviews to document existing and new construction conditions accurately.
9. Provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
10. Engage with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution.

Requirements

Candidates should possess:

1. 6-12 years of electrical engineering and design experience.
2. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and lead projects.
4. Understanding of quality standards, electrical design principles, and engineering fundamentals.
5. Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code regulations.
6. Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
7. Ability to collaborate across disciplines.
