Job summary

S&C Electric Canada Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join the Vista Switchgear team. The role focuses on designing protection and control schematics and wiring diagrams for medium voltage equipment, delivering high quality designs on schedule.

You will collaborate with management and cross‑functional teams, apply CSA/IEEE/UL standards, and generate BOMs and ECOs using 3DEXPERIENCE. A strong CAD background and 7+ years in switchgear design are required.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar with power engineering courses.
• 7+ years of experience designing switchgear or similar electrical design.
• Excellent CAD wiring software skills (Zuken E3, MicroStation, Solid Edge).
• Strong MS Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
• ERP experience including Oracle and 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Strong organization, teamwork in multidiscipline projects.
• Knowledge of components: CTs, VTs, MV breakers, MV switches, motor operators, relays, FT switches, etc.

Responsibilities

• Prepare P&C schematic drawings, detail wiring diagrams, and BOMs for Vista switchgear based on specification summary documents.
• Specify electrical components such as relays, meters, FT switches, CTs, VTs, MCBs.
• Provide technical guidance to wiring assemblers and QA teams to resolve shop floor issues.
• Follow standards such as CSA, IEEE, UL.
• Partner with mechanical design to optimize panel layout for electrical components.
• Generate BOMs and ECOs within 3DEXPERIENCE (3Dx).
