Job summary

Hubbell Canada is seeking a senior electrical engineer for protection and control system design, project management, and field support. You will review requirements, create drawings, BOMs, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

With a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and seven years of related experience, you will read schematics and support testing, validation, commissioning, and customer training. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering plus seven years related experience and/or training.
• Background in power system protection (protective relaying) and control for power generation, transmission and distribution applications required.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and develop customized protection and control system designs.
• Create drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Support system development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop testing and validation procedures.
• Support commissioning, field testing, troubleshooting, and customer training.
• Provide technical support and resolve operational issues.
• Lead or support project execution, schedules, budgets, and reporting.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Prepare project documentation and technical reports.
• Assist with technical proposals and customer solutions.
• Support sales, business development, and industry events.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, company policies, and safety standards.
• Travel as required.
