Job summary

Sun Life Canada is seeking a Case Management Consultant to coach a disability claims team, enhancing case managers’ skills to optimize claim durations and profitability for group disability clients. You will lead coaching on Outcome Focused Case Management and ensure client-focused delivery across the team.

The role requires strong coaching, communication and analytical abilities, with a focus on process improvements and staff development in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in Long and Short Term Disability Claims or Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Proficient knowledge of group insurance policy and coverage concepts.
• Exceptional case management, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent listening and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to deliver constructive feedback in a tactful and sensitive manner that positively influences case managers’ engagement.
• Strong training and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach an assigned disability claims team to improve case managers’ skills and optimize claims duration.
• Coach on Outcome Focused Case Management to develop skills on utilization of tools and approaches.
• Act as primary coaching resource for the team, supporting staff in targets, workload, difficult cases and processes.
• Help team prioritize work items to meet client service standards and Sun Life guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve processes to meet service, quality and financial commitments.
• Contribute to business retention and growth by cultivating excellence in the team.
• Report on emerging trends so they can be addressed and knowledge shared nationally.
