Senior Director - Specialized Claims and Recovery Services
Under the direction and guidance of the Vice President, Specialized Claims and Recovery Services, the Senior Director has corporate responsibility for the vision, direction, and leadership of the Division, which presents high risk for the organization or impacts its financial position.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
- Promote the vision and values of the organization. Ensure management and employees understand and share these principles, aligning plans and activities accordingly.
- Report to the Vice President and participate in developing a shared vision for the Division, adhering to modern controllership principles. Engage the management team in executing the annual business plan and divisional goals.
- Provide leadership in managing and delivering programs and services, establishing policies, standards, and performance expectations, while supporting quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in planning the financial, physical, and human resources of the Division, including annual budgets. Ensure effective resource management and health and safety systems.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with other WSIB leaders and employees to discuss issues, implications, and solutions, fostering an effective team environment.
- Act as a senior expert, providing functional leadership and technical expertise to Vice Presidents and Directors on divisional initiatives.
- Participate as a senior management team member in reviewing and implementing Board-wide strategies and programs, exemplifying teamwork and organizational values.
- Manage inter-divisional projects to support organizational strategy, ensuring their success and outcomes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, government agencies, and industry groups, as directed by the Vice President.
Job Requirements :
- Undergraduate degree and substantial experience in developing and delivering programs.
- Over 10 years of progressive leadership in large organizations dealing with insurance, disability management, or public sector services, with experience in managing complex teams and stakeholder engagement.
