Job description

Under the direction and guidance of the Vice President, Specialized Claims and Recovery Services, the Senior Director has corporate responsibility for the vision, direction, and leadership of the Division, especially given the high risk and impact on the organization's financial position.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :

  1. Promote the organization's vision and values, ensuring management and employees understand and align with them.
  2. Participate in developing a shared vision for the Division, assisting in engaging the management team to deliver this vision through the annual business plan and divisional goals.
  3. Provide leadership in managing and delivering programs and services, establishing standards and performance expectations, and supporting quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Assist in planning the Division's financial, physical, and human resources, including budgeting, and ensure effective resource management and health and safety systems.
  5. Build constructive relationships with other WSIB leaders and employees to discuss issues, implications, and solutions, fostering teamwork to achieve corporate goals.
  6. Serve as a senior expert, providing technical leadership and expertise on divisional initiatives.
  7. Participate in senior management committees to review, plan, and implement organizational strategies and programs, exemplifying teamwork and organizational values.
  8. Manage inter-divisional projects, ensuring they support the organization's strategy and are successful.
  9. Establish and maintain external relationships with contractors, government agencies, stakeholders, and industry groups as directed.

Job Requirements :

  1. Undergraduate degree with significant experience in program development and delivery.
  2. Over 10 years of progressive leadership in large organizations dealing with insurance, disability management, or public sector services, with public sector experience preferred.
