Job description

Under the direction and guidance of the Vice President, Specialized Claims and Recovery Services, the Senior Director has corporate responsibility for the vision, direction, and leadership of the Division, where the scope presents high risk or impacts the organization's financial position.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :

  • Promote the organization's vision and values, ensuring management and employees understand and align with them.
  • Participate with the Vice President in developing a shared vision for the Division, adhering to modern controllership principles, and assist in executing the annual business plan and divisional goals.
  • Lead the management and delivery of programs and services, establishing policies, standards, and performance expectations, and supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan the financial, physical, and human resources of the Division, including budgets, and ensure effective resource management and health and safety systems.
  • Maintain active relationships with other WSIB leaders and employees to discuss issues, implications, and solutions, fostering teamwork to achieve corporate goals.
  • Provide expert leadership and technical advice to Vice Presidents and Directors on divisional initiatives.
  • Participate in senior management activities, including review and implementation of Board-wide initiatives, demonstrating teamwork and organizational values.
  • Manage inter-divisional projects, ensuring they support the organization's strategy and are successful.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as other workers' compensation boards, government agencies, and industry groups.

Job Requirements :

  • Undergraduate degree and significant experience in program development and delivery.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in large organizations related to insurance, disability management, or public sector management, with experience working with diverse stakeholders.
