Job description

Under the direction and guidance of the Vice President, Specialized Claims and Recovery Services, the Senior Director has corporate responsibility for the vision, direction, and leadership of the Division, which involves high risk or impacts the organization's financial position.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  1. Promote the organization's vision and values, ensuring management and employees understand and support them, and that division activities align accordingly.
  2. Participate in developing a shared vision for the Division, adhering to modern controllership principles. Engage management in delivering this vision through annual business plans and divisional goals.
  3. Lead the management and delivery of programs and services, establishing standards, policies, and performance expectations, and supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Assist in planning the division's financial, physical, and human resources, including budgets. Ensure effective resource management and health and safety systems.
  5. Foster active communication and collaboration with other leaders and staff to address organizational issues and promote teamwork towards corporate goals.
  6. Provide functional leadership and technical expertise to Vice Presidents and Directors on relevant matters and initiatives.
  7. Participate in senior management activities, including strategy development and implementation, exemplifying teamwork and organizational values.
  8. Manage inter-divisional projects and ensure their success aligns with organizational strategies.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and industry groups as directed.

Job Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree and significant experience in program development and delivery.
  2. Over 10 years of progressive leadership in large organizations dealing with insurance, disability management, or public sector services, with a preference for public sector experience or exposure to diverse stakeholders.
