Job summary

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra seeks a Senior Director, Corporate Programs & Events to lead corporate sponsorships and partnerships across the VSO, VSO School of Music, and Vancouver Symphony Foundation.

The role reports to the Chief Advancement Officer, building meaningful partnerships, nurturing sponsor relationships, and driving revenue for education and performance programs, including the Power of Music Gala.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience considered an asset.
• 3+ years of corporate sponsorship, fundraising, or strategic partnerships.
• Proven success securing and managing sponsorship agreements.
• Excellent relationship-building, presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Experience in arts, education, nonprofit, or cultural sector preferred.
• Passion for the performing arts and alignment with the mission of VSO, VSOSoM and VSF.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate sponsorship strategy for the VSO, VSOSoM, and VSF.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, negotiate, and steward corporate sponsors and partners.
• Create tailored sponsorship opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and programs.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new sponsorship prospects while managing existing relationships.
• Prepare sponsorship proposals, presentations, agreements, and impact reports.
• Achieve annual revenue goals for corporate sponsorship and partnership support.
• Lead sponsorship development and relationship management for Power of Music Gala and related programs.
• Oversee corporate stewardship and engagement across events and performances.
