Job summary

Socket.dev in Toronto is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, build and support AWS-based solutions in the Public Health domain. You will monitor performance, implement safeguards for data integrity, and document system designs and configurations.

The role requires 10+ years in IT, strong Linux/Unix skills, Kubernetes and Docker experience, and a proven track record delivering secure, scalable cloud architectures for large health-related projects.

Qualifications

• Public sector healthcare experience and governance familiarity.
• Knowledge of PMI and PS I&T project methodologies.
• Experience with Public Sector IT project gating and Enterprise Architecture artifacts.
• Experience with large complex IT health-related projects.
• Unix/Linux administration and hardening.
• Experience implementing security models for cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in AWS cloud platform.
• Provide design, build and support for cloud environments to create solutions for Public Health domain.
• Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment to ensure solutions are available.
• Regularly review production logs, providing analysis and suggestions for proactive measures.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed architecture (containers, Kubernetes, serverless).
• Produce integration plans and inputs into configuration and development projects.
• Develop and maintain system design models, technical documentation and specifications.
• Provide detailed documentation for system design, integration, configuration, development and implementation.
