Job summary

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is seeking a Senior Specialist, Software Engineering (CI/CD & Automation Engineering) to help design and implement scalable, secure delivery pipelines in a hybrid work environment in Montreal.

You will lead automation initiatives, coach teams, and advance DevOps practices across platforms using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and related tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of seven (7) years in DevOps, platform engineering, or automation roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and integrating security/testing into CI/CD.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), and container orchestration.
• Excellent English and French communication; ability to coach/mentor teams through documentation.
• Ability to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, autonomy, and shared ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reusable CI/CD pipeline templates and deployment automation workflows.
• Support teams in adopting platform best practices through coaching and onboarding.
• Manage and improve internal CI/CD and automation tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Develop paved roads and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, and security teams to embed testing and security gates.
• Troubleshoot pipelines and promote observability and resilience in delivery automation.
• Create documentation and training materials to ease adoption.
• Support governance by enforcing standards via policy automation.
