Job summary

Henry Schein Canada seeks a Senior Designer to transform healthcare spaces from concept to final design in a hybrid Toronto-based role. You will create dental office plans, develop schematic layouts and construction drawings in AutoCAD Architecture, and coordinate with sales, architects and contractors.

The role requires 3–5 years of healthcare design experience, strong technical skills, and knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Design, Architecture, or related discipline with 3–5 years healthcare design experience.
• Strong technical design expertise and ability to understand client needs; collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture; knowledge of other 3D design applications is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, including barrier-free design requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative with clients, sales professionals, contractors and colleagues.
• OAA licensure would be a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Create dental office plans to maximize operational efficiency and patient comfort while adhering to Codes and tight timelines.
• Collaborate with Sales and Architect to create schematic space plans, technical construction drawings, and Permit/Approval drawings using AutoCAD Architecture.
• Understand building techniques and apply the Building Code; navigate it with ease.
• Possess understanding of MOH radiation permit requirements and manage multiple permit applications with accuracy.
• Track, monitor, and prioritize projects with minimal supervision; communicate effectively with team.
• Visit project sites for measurements and site documentation; access to a vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s Licence.
