Job summary

Match Group in Vancouver is seeking a Sr. Data Product Engineer to join the new Core Data team. This hybrid role blends data engineering with product-minded data solutions to empower multiple brands across the enterprise.

You will design scalable data products, model data, optimize lakes, work with AWS/Databricks, mentor analysts, and translate stakeholder needs into actionable deliverables while communicating progress to engineers and business partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional/industry experience.
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling, lakehouse architecture, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering teams to ensure data flows from creation to presentation layers.
• Advocate for the Core Data team by championing best practices around scale, performance, and privacy.
• Improve the data technology stack through containerization, data modeling, ETL pipeline development, and building scalable/reliable solutions.
• Translate stakeholder needs into action items and deliverables.
• Create high-quality, business-ready data solutions suitable for non-engineers.
• Proactively brainstorm new metrics and data views for business partners.
• Maintain the data library — core metric definitions, sample data, access tips.
• Train brand data analysts to support data needs at their dating brand.
• Communicate regularly with key customers; maintain accurate release notes for platform changes.
• Represent internal customers — advocate for changes, resourcing, re-architecture, or blockers.
• Support existing on-prem infrastructure and help expand into the cloud (AWS/Databricks).
• 5+ years of professional/industry experience.
• Experience delivering data products from conception to delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops across disparate groups.
• Passion for designing elegant data solutions and platforms.
