How you will contribute

  • Partner with the modeling team for the generation of statistical forecasting.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team.
  • Review standard consumption versus forecast at the customer and total product levels, liaising with replenishment and sales revenue planning to manage potential availability issues and the impact of under-consumption.
  • Drive strong linkages with commercial, customer collaboration, modeling, order fulfillment, and supply planning teams, including innovation and equity.
  • Drive continuous capability building within the demand planning team for planning improvements.
What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career, along with the following experience and knowledge:

  • Comprehensive supply chain, economic, financial, or logistics experience and commercial awareness in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Openness to learn new ways of working and willingness to use new tools.
  • Experience driving demand review processes and participating in an IBP cycle.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, focus on key priorities, and improve planning.
  • Ability to build effective teams.
  • Knowledge of leading practice demand planning and end-to-end supply chain concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
More about this role

The Customer Demand Planner is a key contributor to the Demand Planning segment of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, leading short to mid-term forecast planning (0-15 months) in APOA with inputs from CBT and external customers where applicable. This role facilitates multiple forums, generates insights, and provides demand inputs for revenue reporting and production planning. The role also partners with the Category Demand Planning team and is a joint owner of gap reconciliation between category and customer-level forecasts.

Additional responsibilities include leading root cause analysis, innovation management, and other ad hoc initiatives. The position interfaces with Sales, Sales Strategy, Category Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and others to communicate forecasts that drive operational plans and support key metrics and overall business results. An understanding of supply chain principles is essential.

What you need to know about this position:

This is a customer-facing role working closely with the Sales team and customer demand counterparts for forecast generation and alignment across categories. The role aims to achieve customer forecast performance targets.

What extra ingredients you will bring:
  • Build an unbiased, unconstrained CBT-recommended category/PPG/SKU APO shipment forecast using cross-functional inputs, consumption/shipment analysis, and overlays for revenue reporting, production planning, and downstream deployment.
  • Review the disaggregated short-term demand plan in APO, including SKU/location mix and weekly pacing.
  • Maintain key parameters in APO such as SKU mix, innovations, phase-outs, and discontinuations.
  • Ensure accurate forecast passing through APO with appropriate communication to Operations as part of the S&OE process.
  • Facilitate communication of updates/exceptions, explain variances vs. prior year, contracts, and prior estimates, and report on forecast accuracy.
  • Drive forecast alignment with external customers, leveraging data to influence forecasts and align demand profiles for new SKUs and promotions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for continuous improvement of forecast accuracy and service levels, sharing insights during monthly KPI reviews.
  • Provide thought leadership and act as a subject matter expert in reporting insights to strengthen segment, brand, and category efforts by customer.
  • Clearly communicate all assumptions, drivers, risks, and opportunities within and outside the forecast plan.
  • Present data to cross-functional teams to inform new product launches, customer insights, and rationalizations, influencing execution decisions.
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Job specific requirements
  • 3+ years of related experience in Supply Chain or Sales Planning, preferably within the CPG industry.
  • PowerBI experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint (intermediate level).
  • Strong communication skills; ability to articulate issues and solutions verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and fact-based insight gathering from trends.
  • Experience leading consensus forums requiring negotiation and influencing skills.
