Job summary

Ausenco in Canada is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to lead cost control across engineering, procurement, and construction phases on heavy industrial and mining projects. You will maintain cost systems, reconcile activities, support EVM reporting, and help develop cash flow and staffing forecasts.

Travel to project sites is required; strong Excel, Hexagon PPM, and Oracle E-Business skills are essential, with 10–15 years of experience in project controls on EPCM projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering or project management engineering background.
• 10–15 years’ experience in planning/cost control or project control on heavy industrial and mining EPCM projects.
• Strong and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update project cost control systems and coding structures to monitor trends, scope changes, commitments, payments, forecasts and budget variances.
• Reconcile cost activities from internal teams, consultants and third parties for accurate reporting.
• Support periodic progress reports using earned value management (EVM) methodologies.
• Assist in developing periodic cash flow forecasts and staffing reports.
• Monitor performance across cost, schedule and progress metrics for data-driven assessments.
• Collaborate with Lead Planner to maintain Primavera P6 schedules and ensure WBS-coded activities.
• Assist estimators with conversion of cost estimates into capital control budgets.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of cost control procedures.
