Job description

Job Summary: In this position you have a strong technical background that plays a key role in supporting/leading the controls team through design, programming and implementation activities required to complete assigned projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Design, configuration and programming of automation and controls systems using PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
2. Develop PLC code and HMI programs using Allen Bradley Studio5000, FactoryTalk View, Siemens TIA Portal, and applicable programming software.
3. Provide detailed documentation throughout each project.
4. Manage and control design projects that result in a high quality and reliable product.
5. Complete controls designs and electrical schematics; specifying hardware and components.
6. Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems.
7. Inspect products and processes to identify areas of improvement.
8. Understand customer requirements and create design based on customer requirements.
9. Maintain detailed documentation of design specifications, test results, and project progress, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
10. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and materials.
11. Prepare hardwired design sketch work on assigned projects.
12. Develop and implement design standards/modular hardwired designs.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Computer Engineering preferred.
2. 5+ years of work experience in a related field.
3. Programming all controls related devices, including but not restricted to: PLC & HMIs (Rockwell, Siemens).
4. Vision systems (Cognex and Keyence).
5. Strong instructional and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
6. Proficient in computer-aided design and drafting software.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to determine customer needs to develop project specifications and scope.
10. Ability to interpret and implement specifications.
11. Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
