Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Control System Architect to design, develop, and maintain software for controlling mechanical and electrical systems in water infrastructure. The role requires expertise in C/C++, Python, Java and C#, with strong OT, cybersecurity, and network design experience.

Occasional site visits and leadership of project delivery are expected. You will work with clients across North America, contributing to pump stations, water treatment, and wastewater projects, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Ten years of applicable technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field; MS preferred.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, C#, or Java.
• Experience with OT in water treatment or wastewater infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Design and write software for control systems using languages such as C/C++, Python, Java and/or C#.
• Test and debug control system software for reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand operational requirements.
• Upgrade and modify existing control system software.
• Document software modifications for future reference.
• Assist with installation, configuration, and calibration of control systems.
• Lead hardware design and software configuration of high-availability servers, cybersecurity, and networks.
• Maintain OT system security and provide technical support.
• Stay updated on control system programming best practices and vendor configurations.
