Job summary

EllisDon Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Lead to guide a team of purchasers and manage end-to-end procurement for multiple construction projects across Western Canada. You will review requirements, coordinate quotes, purchase orders, expediting, and delivery, while mitigating risks and ensuring alignment with project budgets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of purchasing experience, with 3–5 years in construction.
• Demonstrated leadership experience coaching a team.
• Experience supporting self-performing heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach & develop a team of purchasers.
• Oversee full purchasing cycle from requisition review to purchase order creation and expediting.
• Manage high-volume purchasing across multiple projects and entities.
• Assess project requirements, schedules and budgets to identify procurement needs.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier capacity, and long-lead items.
• Analyze purchasing trends to identify cost savings and supplier consolidation.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and service providers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules and volume discounts.
• Collaborate with PMs, Superintendents, Estimators, Finance and Accounts Payable.
• Maintain procurement records, quotations and cost coding for audits.
