Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Claims Representative III, Senior Inside Investigator, in the Investigative Services Unit to join our growing team. You will analyze and investigate moderate to high levels of complexity for all lines of business, with a focus on property claims.

You will also enter data into our metrics-tracker program and collaborate across teams in a hybrid workplace across Canadian office locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in property claims handling or investigation.
• University degree or Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Curiosity, persistence and thorough research abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
• Advanced user of standard desktop tools.
• Bilingual French and English considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Use Fraud Detection Software to detect suspicious claims.
• Review and analyze claims for suspected fraud and determine the type and scope of investigation required.
• Utilize loss control tools and gather essential information from all possible resources to recommend further investigation or close non-suspicious tasks.
• Conduct investigations from all parties involved by telephone and using internet technology.
• Document the investigations by collecting and securing proof of fraudulent activities.
• Analyze gathered information and evaluate evidence.
• Contact Police departments to pursue further information when necessary.
