Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead seismic qualification, structural analysis and ageing management for steel and concrete facilities. You will prepare calculations, design packages, and ensure code compliance for nuclear or industrial projects in Ontario.

The ideal candidate holds a Canadian PE, 8+ years of hands-on experience with ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and related tools, plus site exposure. Ontario-based applicants preferred.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University.
• Minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings.
• Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada.
• Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings.
• Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
• Knowledge of Nuclear QA guidelines and nuclear safety codes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
• Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry.
• Prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.
• Analyze structural systems using ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI and other programs.
• Ensure compliance with Codes, Standards and Regulations for permits and plans.
• Deliver engineering deliverables within timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers.
• Review and comment on others' work for accuracy and quality.
• Participate in formal design reviews and plant walkdowns.
