Job summary

Jobtailor in Mississauga, Canada seeks a Civil Engineer with 2+ years in structural analysis and design for steel and concrete in nuclear or industrial settings. Must hold a Canadian PE license, preferably Ontario registration, and have experience with static/dynamic/seismic analysis.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings.
  • Must be licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada.
  • Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • 1–3 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset.
  • Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
  • Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset.
  • Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines and procedures is an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, and structural design.

  • Deliver engineering deliverables within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical instructions to designers developing engineering documentation.
  • Review and comment on others' work for accuracy, completeness and quality.
  • Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews.
  • Perform plant walkdowns to support design requirements and detailed engineering of design modifications.
