Job summary

BBA Consultants in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead multidisciplinary projects in the power and mining sectors, with a strong focus on dam-related infrastructure and heavy civil works.

You’ll drive technical delivery, provide project leadership and client development, manage scope and budgets, review reports and drawings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers to grow the team’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and eligible for P.Eng. licensure in BC.
• 20+ years of civil engineering experience with mining exposure.
• Proven lead roles (Technical Lead, Project Engineer or EOR) on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian codes, standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and client engagement.
• Proficiency with civil design tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Willingness to work both in-office and on field/site assignments.
• Asset: dam safety, tailings or hydro-related infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Lead and/or Engineer of Record on selected mandates.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings and technical specifications.
• Oversee site infrastructure design including earthworks, drainage and water management.

• Ensure technical quality and constructability while complying with codes and standards.
• Manage project scope, budget and schedule and coordinate with clients and contractors.
• Support business development with proposals, scope definition and client presentations.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to grow services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Over 20 years of experience in civil engineering, with strong exposure to mining projects
• Proven experience in design of civil infrastructure (earthworks, water management, drainage, roads)
• Experience serving as Technical Lead, Project Engineer or EOR on complex projects
• Strong understanding of Canadian codes, standards and regulatory frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in project management and multidisciplinary coordination
• Proven client engagement and business development experience
• Proficiency with civil design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D; others are assets)
• Willingness to support both office-based work and field/site assignments
• Asset: experience with dam safety, tailings, hydraulic structures or hydro-related infrastructure
