Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead projects across mining, hydroelectric and energy sectors in Canada. You will oversee structural design from concept to construction, mentor junior engineers and contribute to business development.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, review drawings and calculations, and ensure compliance with NBCC and CSA S16 codes while delivering safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is an asset).
• Minimum 15 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• P.Eng. designation in British Columbia or eligibility for registration.
• Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with NBCC, CSA S16, AISC.

• Familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards (NBCC, CSA S16, AISC)
• Strong understanding of site execution and construction-phase support
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Experience contributing to technical proposals and business development efforts
