Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a BIM/CAD Coordinator to model, coordinate and maintain BIM/CAD standards for mining and hydroelectric projects. The role supports engineering teams across disciplines and ensures collaborative platforms and tools function effectively.

Ideal candidates have strong BIM experience, proficiency with Autodesk suite, and bilingual English/French communication to collaborate with Canadian offices and clients. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical college diploma or university degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or engineering technology, with CAD/BIM experience.
• Experience working at a consulting engineering firm on mining and/or hydroelectric projects or a strong desire to specialize in these sectors.
• Proficiency with the Autodesk Suite (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Plant3D).
• Solid understanding of mining and hydroelectric project life cycles (studies, detailed engineering, work site, rehabilitation, as-built).
• Ability to provide support and guidance, strong teaching skills and the ability to clearly explain BIM requirements to diverse project teams.
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other offices/clients in English-speaking regions; French skills to work with Québec offices/clients.
• Asset: knowledge of Smart3D

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models for mining and hydroelectric projects.
• Set up and maintain federated site models, ensuring geometric and documentation consistency.
• Perform multidisciplinary clash detection across disciplines in complex environments.
• Develop, document and continuously update BIM and CAD templates, libraries and modelling standards.
• Administer the common data environment (CDE) for projects (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud).
• Support engineering teams in using CAD and BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Plant3D).
• Help prepare BIM deliverables requested by major clients across industries.
• Participate in internal training and provide ongoing coaching on BIM best practices.

You’ll report to the Development Manager, CAD/BIM, and support the engineering teams in modelling and coordinating digital models for large-scale projects of all types (mining and hydropower sectors).

You’ll report to the Development Manager, CAD/BIM, and support the engineering teams in modelling and coordinating digital models for large-scale projects of all types (mining and hydropower sectors). You’ll ensure BBA’s BIM/CAD standards are applied, that model and deliverable quality is maintained and that CAD tools and the collaborative platform function properly.

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
