Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Vancouver team and lead multidisciplinary mining and power projects. You will drive technical delivery, project leadership and client development with emphasis on dam-related infrastructure and heavy civil works.

In this role you will mentor junior engineers, manage scope and budgets, and coordinate with clients, contractors and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality designs that meet Canadian codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and P.Eng eligibility in BC.
• 20+ years of civil engineering experience with mining exposure.
• Experience as Technical Lead or EOR on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design delivery for mining and power projects from concept to construction support.
• Serve as Technical Lead and/or Engineer of Record on selected mandates.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, drawings and specifications.
• Oversee site infrastructure design including earthworks, drainage and roads.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure technical quality and compliance with codes and standards.
• Manage project scope, budget and schedule while coordinating with clients and contractors.
• Support business development through proposals, scope definition and client presentations.

We’re seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Vancouver and contribute to delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects in the power and mining sectors. You’ll play a key role in technical delivery, project leadership and client development, with a strong focus on dam-related infrastructure and heavy civil works.

• Lead the delivery of civil engineering design for mining and power projects, from concept through detailed design and construction support

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• P.Eng. (EGBC) or eligible for registration in British Columbia
• Over 20 years of experience in civil engineering, with strong exposure to mining projects
• Proven experience in design of civil infrastructure (earthworks, water management, drainage, roads)
• Experience serving as Technical Lead, Project Engineer or EOR on complex projects
• Strong understanding of Canadian codes, standards and regulatory frameworks
• Demonstrated experience in project management and multidisciplinary coordination
• Proven client engagement and business development experience
• Proficiency with civil design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D; others are assets)
• Willingness to support both office-based work and field/site assignments
• Asset: experience with dam safety, tailings, hydraulic structures or hydro-related infrastructure
