Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a Category Director to lead category programs across formats, driving sales, market share and profitability. You will partner with Format Category Teams to shape assortment, promotions and space allocations while mentoring a high-performing team.

The role requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking and a customer-centric approach to grow the business and deliver against corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of business experience in marketing, merchandising or pricing role.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L statements.
• Ability to gather and synthesize customer, competitor and market insight.
• Develop short and long term plans aligned with corporate strategies.
• Progressive and innovative; seeks opportunities to improve competitiveness.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build category programs with Format Category Teams to meet sales, market share, shrink and EBIT targets.
• Prepare weekly category reports and LE's by category, including Other Vendor Income.
• Develop product assortment, sales and buying plans to achieve targets and review implementation.
• Collaborate with control label brand team to grow the brand and achieve strategy and market share.
• Deliver against category objectives to reach annual sales, market share and profit goals.
• Lead weekly store tours and mentor direct reports; arrange training and provide feedback.
