Loblaw Companies Limited seeks a Senior Manager, Business Development to bridge corporate strategy with franchise partners and drive nationwide store performance. This role partners with Franchise Operations, Legal, Procurement and Merchandising to optimize franchise profitability and renewals.

Based in Brampton or other head office locations, this national role requires travel and a strong financial mindset to support franchise programs and agreements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience within the Canadian grocery retail industry.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, business practices and franchise environment.
• Experience supporting or leading franchise businesses, store operations, multi-unit retail or related functions.
• Demonstrated ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support a national portfolio of 100+ franchised stores across Canada to drive performance.
• Build trusted relationships with franchisees and internal partners as a strategic advisor.
• Provide oversight on retail P&L performance, including sales, margins and expenses.
• Analyze results to identify risks and opportunities and translate into practical actions.
• Partner with Legal, Procurement, Merchandising and Real Estate on franchise agreements and terms.
• Support development and management of franchise-related contracts and programs.
• Guide franchisees on business expectations, financial requirements and priorities.
• Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and franchise experience.
• Coach team members and foster an inclusive, performance-driven culture.
