Job summary

Frima, a veteran video game developer in Quebec City and Montreal, seeks a Senior Programmer (C++) to drive high‑impact features on major projects. The role requires deep C++ mastery, Unreal Engine experience, and the ability to lead peers across engine, gameplay, and toolchains.

You will collaborate with English-speaking partners, work across platforms, and thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid/remote environment with generous vacations and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• At least 10 years of programming experience.
• Experience in technical leadership (mentoring, team management).
• Excellent proficiency in C++ language.
• Knowledge of hardware/software layers in game development.
• Ability to design systemic architectures (SDK/game client/server).
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel outside the country as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in daily Scrum-like meetings to track deliverables.
• Conduct code reviews and optimize performance across CPUs/GPUs/memory.
• Develop and maintain engine/toolchain integrations for mobile, PC, and console.
• Debug at engine and gameplay levels and improve deployment processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior programmers to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with leads to align on design decisions and project constraints.
