Job description

Reporting to the Director of Service Delivery, the Senior Business Partner, Data Governance will lead a team to establish and implement Ledcor’s data governance strategy, policies, and controls, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across the organization. This role focuses on solving business problems through data and integrating data management practices into the organization in a practical, results-driven way. You will manage a data governance framework that treats data as a valuable asset, protecting it from risks and leveraging it to drive business outcomes.

This role is highly collaborative, requiring a strategic mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, the Enterprise Data Governance Committee, Business Intelligence teams and data owners across the organization’s operating groups to drive data governance initiatives and ensure data governance standards and best practices are being applied consistently.

Join our True Blue team by applying today!

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and manage the development and execution of Ledcor’s Data Governance Strategy, aligning with senior leadership’s business strategy
  2. Own the data governance roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and validating their impact
  3. Develop a roadmap for ongoing improvement, using audits, feedback, and metrics to showcase effectiveness and value
  4. Ensure the data governance strategy aligns with individual operating group business goals on an annual basis
  5. Contribute to the evolution of Ledcor’s data maturity by providing insights and guidance on data governance initiatives
  6. Embed data governance into practical business solutions, demonstrating how better data management solves business challenges
  7. Manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with business objectives, not just compliance
  8. Define clear data governance roles and responsibilities, establishing processes to foster ownership and accountability
  9. Partner with cybersecurity to ensure data protection, and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
  10. Promote a culture of governance as a business enabler by partnering with training specialists to educate users on data governance policies and best practices

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in BSc, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Economics or Similar
  2. 10+ years in data governance, business intelligence, or data analysis
  3. Proven ability to introduce and integrate governance through business-driven initiatives rather than just policy enforcement
  4. Strong negotiation skills—able to uncover real business problems and demonstrate governance as a value-add
  5. Experience leading and implementing data governance frameworks that are practical, actionable, and drive measurable impact
  6. Ability to identify and execute quick-win data initiatives that showcase governance value
  7. Experience structuring security, quality, and compliance measures within a data platform environment
  8. Understanding of when to push for change vs. allowing teams to self-realize governance value
  9. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a history of influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams
  10. Expertise in data management tools (Collibra, metadata management, data cataloging, etc.)
  11. Knowledge of database systems, data warehousing, and big data technologies
  12. Familiarity with data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
  13. Experience in project management and leading governance implementations
