Job summary

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular full-time Building Systems Technician III to join our Enterprise Facilities team at our Edmonton site. You will manage HVAC and water treatment systems and lead on-site maintenance.

The role requires a Fourth Class Power Engineering certificate or equivalent, 4+ years of experience operating building systems, and the ability to supervise contractors and coordinate with teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of experience operating a computerized building system and related equipment.
• Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate, Systems Maintenance Technician or equivalent is required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Excellent MS Office skills and ability to transfer technical knowledge to others.
• Ability to work alone.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC and water treatment systems.
• Inspect, test, verify and maintain life safety equipment.
• Provide general departmental support and facilities maintenance.
• Carry out after-hours on-call duties on a rotational basis.
• Supervise contractors and ensure contracts meet regulatory requirements.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
