Job summary

BGIS is seeking a BAS Technician to support operation, programming, monitoring, commissioning, and energy management at a campus facility in Red Deer, Alberta.

You will work on HVAC controls, integrate software with third-party systems, perform maintenance, training, and on-call rotations, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years of BAS experience, strong problem-solving, and a team-oriented mindset; JCI Metasys experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school completion plus training or equivalent experience in Building Management Systems.
• JCI Metasys experience and training highly desired.
• Proven ability to self-learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Minimum 5+ years related experience.
• Proficient in multiple system integration strategies and applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance to ensure high efficiency without business disruption.
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions.
• Repair/replace BMS devices, controllers, cabling and components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems in BAS.
• Monitor system performance, alarms, and cybersecurity controls.
• Provide commissioning verifications and project documentation.
