Job summary

RJC Engineers in London, ON is seeking a Building Envelope Project Engineer to lead investigations, design, and rehabilitation of envelope systems for diverse buildings. You will collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to deliver durable, constructible solutions on active sites.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in building envelope consulting or building science, strong communication skills, and a commitment to client service and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in building envelope consulting or building science.
• Experience with building envelope investigations, remediation design, and construction review.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage building envelope projects from initial investigation through design and construction completion.
• Conduct site investigations and condition assessments of building envelope systems, including façades, cladding, roofing, glazing, waterproofing, and air/vapour barrier assemblies.
• Diagnose building envelope performance issues such as water infiltration, condensation, air leakage, thermal bridging, and material deterioration.
• Develop building envelope rehabilitation, repair, and renewal strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, condition assessments, and recommendations for clients.
• Design building envelope details, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, mock-ups, and submittals related to envelope systems.
• Provide construction review and contract administration services during envelope rehabilitation work.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, technologists, and interns.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and assist with business development efforts.
