Job summary

RJC Engineers in Halifax, NS seeks a Building Envelope Project Engineer to lead investigations, design, and rehabilitation of envelope systems for diverse buildings. You will work with clients, architects, and internal teams to deliver durable, constructible solutions on active projects.

Ideal candidate has 5–10 years in building envelope consulting, civil engineering degree, and registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Registered with Engineers Nova Scotia or eligible for registration.
• 5–10 years in building envelope consulting or building science.
• Experience with investigations, remediation design, and construction review.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage building envelope projects from investigation through design and construction.
• Conduct site investigations and condition assessments of façades, cladding, roofing, glazing, waterproofing, and air/vapour barriers.
• Diagnose water infiltration, condensation, air leakage, thermal bridging, and deterioration.
• Develop rehabilitation, repair, and renewal strategies.
• Prepare reports, assessments, and client recommendations.
• Design envelope details, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and other disciplines.
• Review shop drawings, mock-ups, and submittals.
• Provide construction review and contract administration.
• Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and interns.
• Build strong client relationships and assist with business development.
