Job summary

Pinchin is seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer, Building Envelope, to join the Building Science and Resiliency team in British Columbia. You will lead envelope assessments, design, rehabilitation, and restoration projects across BC, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing client interaction.

You should have a BASc in a relevant field, 5+ years of experience, and ideally a P.Eng or eligibility with EGBC. Travel throughout BC and travel readiness are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Building Envelope, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional designation such as P.Eng. registered or eligible for registration with EGBC is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, restoration, rehabilitation, or building science projects.
• Strong understanding of building enclosure systems including roofing, cladding, glazing, balconies, waterproofing, and parking structures.
• Experience with assessment, design, rehabilitation, and restoration consulting projects for existing buildings.
• Knowledge of construction documents, specifications, contract administration, and construction review processes.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, and rehabilitation recommendations.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and restoration best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD and technical drawing review is considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout British Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Lead building envelope assessment, design, rehabilitation, and restoration projects.
• Conduct investigations of roofing, exterior walls, windows, balconies, waterproofing, and parking structures.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and rehabilitation recommendations.
• Assist with restoration project design and delivery.
• Perform construction reviews and contract administration to ensure quality and design intent.
• Support project management activities: budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and client coordination.
• Participate in proposals, client meetings, and business development activities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Building Science, Structural, MEP, Environmental, and Sustainability groups.
