Job summary

Brunel University of London is seeking a Technician or Senior Technician in Biomechanics to support teaching and research across SHES and Health Sciences. The role involves operating and developing specialist equipment such as motion capture, force plates and EMG systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to planning and running a new, accessible biomechanics laboratory opening in 2026, with opportunities for professional development and a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

Hands-on biomechanics experience and laboratory-based technical skills.
Strong understanding of lab health and safety practices.
Experience supporting teaching and research in a biomechanics lab.
Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot precision laboratory equipment.
Familiarity with data processing using MATLAB or Python is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain and develop biomechanics equipment to support teaching and research.
Support the development of a new, state-of-the-art biomechanics laboratory.
Collaborate with academic staff, students and external collaborators across multiple buildings.
Provide mentoring and guidance for junior technical staff and students.
