Brunel University of London invites applications for a Research Assistant/Research Fellow in the Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology (BCAST) at the Uxbridge Campus. The project runs for nine months under an Innovate UK programme on energy-efficient aluminium brazing, with hybrid working allowed.
The successful candidate will perform experimental work and modelling to optimise brazing processes and characterize joints, aiming at high-integrity, high-quality brazed joints for heat
This position is funded by an Innovate UK project entitled TURBOCOOLING: Energy-Efficient and Frost-Resistant Heat Exchangers Enabled by Advanced Aluminium Brazing, for a period of nine months. The project commenced on 1 July 2026 and aims to develop advanced aluminium brazing technology for high-performance heat exchanger applications. It focuses on brazing aluminium alloy components using an induction heating system with integrated temperature monitoring and control to ensure high-integrity, high-quality brazed joints.
