Job summary

Cape Breton University invites applications for a Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician in the School of Nursing for a Full-Time Continuing Role. Working within the Clinical Skills and Simulation suites under the Simulation Centre Lead, the technician provides technical support for simulation operations, including maintenance of mannequins, software, hardware, and peripherals.

This role also involves collaborating with Nova Scotia Health and supporting interdisciplinary simulation needs

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Electronics Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
• Experience providing technical support for clinical teaching or healthcare simulation.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic, computer, and biomedical systems.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical support for simulation operations.
• Prepare, maintain, and repair computerized mannequins, software, and hardware.
• Program, test, and run simulation scenarios with faculty instructors.
• Oversee biomedical equipment maintenance and inventory control.
• Collaborate with Nova Scotia Health and support interdisciplinary needs.
