Job summary

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Surrey, BC, seeks a Senior Advisor, Benefits & Disability Management to join the People & Performance team on a hybrid basis for a 12-month maternity leave coverage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, disability management, or Total Rewards.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian benefits programs, disability management practices, employee leave programs, and Total Rewards principles.
• Experience supporting renewals, benchmarking, vendor relationships, and communications.
• Working knowledge of employment standards, privacy, workers' comp, accommodation, and human rights laws.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to review data and make practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex benefits information to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
• CPHR/CEBS/CCP or related designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration and continuous improvement of Westland's benefits, wellness, retirement, and disability programs.
• Provide guidance to employees and leaders on benefits, wellness, leave, retirement, and disability matters.
• Coordinate benefit program administration, including enrolment, eligibility, communications, wellness initiatives, and plan documents.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and People & Performance teams for compliant program delivery.
• Support benefits data integrity, reporting, audits, system enhancements, and HRIS processes.
• Assist with benefits integration related to acquisitions, due diligence, and transition planning.
• Conduct benchmarking, financial analysis, and trend reviews to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Build relationships with insurers, retirement providers, wellness vendors, and disability management partners to enhance the employee experience.
• Support disability management programs, including short-term and long-term disability, workers' compensation, accommodations, and return-to-work initiatives.
