Job summary

Vancouver City Savings Credit Union is seeking a Benefits Administration Specialist to oversee disability programs, leaves, benefits continuation, and return-to-work activities. The role emphasizes confidentiality, policy alignment, and coordination with HR and external partners.

Based at our head office with a hybrid work arrangement, the position reports to the Manager, Health Benefits & Wellbeing, and requires strong organizational and communication skills to support a compassionate employee

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in HR, business admin, or related field.
• 3–5 years administering disability programs, leaves, or related HR ops.
• Experience with short- and long-term disability and return-to-work processes.
• Knowledge of benefits administration, pensions, and employment legislation.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate disability, leaves, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
• Maintain accurate records and HR system documentation.
• Administer a broad range of leave programs (maternity, parental, compassionate care, bereavement, etc).
• Manage benefits continuation, suspension, reinstatement, enrollments and premium changes.
• Coordinate leave documentation, approvals, workflows, and extensions.
• Prepare employee communications, leave packages, and reminders.
• Support payroll, pension deductions, and year-end reporting related to leaves.
• Partner with managers, Payroll, Workforce Administration, Retirement, disability adjudicators, and benefit providers.
