Job summary

Architecture49 in Toronto, ON, is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our team delivering world-class transportation facilities and major venues. You will produce technical design and contract documents, and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate has a degree in architectural technology, 10+ years in an architectural consulting firm, and expertise in REVIT, BIM workflows, and Canadian energy standards. Ontario-based applicants preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in architectural and building technology from an accredited technical college.
  • 10+ years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist in an architectural consulting firm.
  • Proficient with REVIT and knowledgeable in BIM workflows.
  • Understanding of current energy and sustainability requirements in Canada.
  • Experience with commercial, institutional, transit, or industrial project types.
  • Preference for BIM, Microsoft 365, site experience, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Producing and overseeing technical design and contract documents in compliance with Owner’s Statement of Requirements, in collaboration with project teams.
  • Validating designs and deliverables conform to technical guidelines, code requirements and regulations.
  • Providing technical design solutions for facility construction including interior and exterior assemblies.
  • Coordinating internal production teams.
  • Coordinating with project sub-consultants.
  • Providing technical mentoring and leadership to less experienced technical staff.
  • Assisting with contract administration including site visits and working with construction contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Producing and overseeing technical design and contract documents in compliance with Owner’s Statement of Requirements, in collaboration with project teams.
  • Working with senior team members to validate that designs and deliverables conform to technical guidelines, code requirements and regulations.
  • Provide technical design solutions for facility construction including interior and exterior assemblies.
  • Coordinating internal production teams.
  • Coordinating with project sub-consultants.
  • Providing technical mentoring and leadership to less experienced technical staff.
  • Assisting with contract administration including site visits and working with construction contractors.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in architectural and building technology from an accredited technical college.
  • 10+ years’ working as an Architectural Technologist for an Architectural consulting firm. Must have experience in commercial, institutional, transit, or industrial project types.
  • Demonstrated substantial product knowledge, and an ability to detail architectural building systems.
  • Understanding of current energy and sustainability requirements in Canada.
  • REVIT software experience is necessary.
  • Preference given to candidates with understanding of BIM principles & workflows; Microsoft 365 environment; construction site experience; and Bluebeam

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,700 - 124,300
MB & ON: $85,500 - 117,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $84,700 - 112,400
