Job summary

Architecture49, a national architecture practice, seeks an experienced licensed architect to lead multi-disciplinary design teams on government and community projects in Canada. The role emphasizes BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and visualization workflows within a collaborative studio environment.

You will oversee design development, client communications, and project delivery, while mentoring staff and coordinating with consultants to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect or professional designation/education in a design/construction focused field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in a similar role.
  • Preference given to candidates with knowledge of BIM principles & workflows, REVIT software, AutoCAD software, Visualization software, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365 environment and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with Security & Defence and mixed-use projects would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
  • Manage a group of architectural staff, leading project meetings, and coordinating other building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Provide technical and administrative oversight to ensure that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing and working with accounting to achieve the desired results.
  • Review monthly project performance data including utilization, multipliers, revenue analysis (profit/loss), hard and soft backlog, client/ consulting invoicing, work in progress and accounts receivable, overhead optimization, and overall quality of work.
  • Support the team on pursuing work through assisting with RFP preparation including schedule and fee

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $110,600 – $146,500
MB & ON: $100,900 – $139,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $99,900 – $132,700
