The City of Powell River BC seeks an Aquatic Staff III to organize and deliver aquatic programs and events. The role ensures supervision and safety, teaches swimming and lifesaving skills, and supports facility operations, while training and recertifying Aquatic Staff.

The incumbent will work in a high humidity environment with morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts. Applicants should have Lifesaving Trainer or NL Instructor certificates and related qualifications, plus current First Aid

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma.
• Lifesaving Trainer - Swim Instructor Trainer OR National Lifeguard Instructor Certificate.
• National Lifeguard Pool Certificate.
• Lifesaving Instructors Certificate.
• Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certificate.
• Standard First Aid certificate.
• Pool Operator 1.
• WHMIS certificate.

Responsabilités

• Organize and deliver aquatic programs and events.
• Ensure supervision and safety of participants.
• Teach swimming and lifesaving skills to participants.
• Support aquatic facility operations and light maintenance.
• Train and recertify Aquatic Staff.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as required.
