Job summary

Interac Corp. is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist in AppOps to ensure resiliency and performance across Interac applications, platforms, and infrastructure in a cloud and hybrid environment.

You will manage, tune, and support services, lead deployments, and implement scalable observability to minimize incident duration while maintaining 24/7 availability of national payment systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Proficient with Terraform and IaC principles.
• Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, Lambda).
• Experience with end-to-end workload observability (AWS, CloudWatch, Dynatrace).
• Knowledge of cloud-based redundancy, load-balancing, AZs, and auto-scaling.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Understanding of relational databases in cloud environments (Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS).
• Experience with microservices, containers, and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in Canada in a full-time capacity.

Responsibilities

• Drive service stability and automation initiatives in AWS-based environments.
• Lead releases, deployments, validations, and rollback planning.
• Implement monitoring to track performance and health of workloads on AWS.
• Develop scalable deployments with self-healing and auto-scaling.
• Optimize performance using Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and related tools.
• Analyze production trends and coordinate with Agile squads for root-cause analysis.
• Support CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Maintain security, currency, and vulnerability remediation.
• Document technical architectures and runbooks for operations.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call production support and issue escalation.
